Okada Manila is a casino resort and hotel complex located in the entertainment city gaming belt in Paranaque, Metro Manila, Philippines. In 2007, Japanese billionaire Kazuo Okada spent 7 years to establish and manage Okada Manila at a total cost of about 250 billion yen.
In June 2016, the casino complex then known as Manila Bay Resorts was renamed Okada Manila. Okada intends to use the facility to compete with casinos in Macau and position Metro Manila as a regional and international destination. The casino was originally scheduled to open in November 2016, but the opening was later delayed due to worse-than-expected weather conditions.
The casino complex opened as a "preview" on December 21, 2016, and then began operations as a casino on December 30, 2016, with the fountain officially opening to invited guests on March 31, 2017. The casino opened its attractions to the public the next day.
Okada Manila's 44-hectare Casino City has 26,410.77 square meters allocated to the gaming industry. The Okada Manila Hotel building consists of the Pearl Wing and the Coral Wing, each 15 stories high and connected by two sky bridges. The building's glass façade is golden in color representing the sunset hue of Manila Bay and is one of the main themes of the casino. The first phase of the $2.4 billion casino project includes 993 hotel rooms. More than 3,000 electronic gaming machines and 500 table games are planned to be installed in the casino.
Amenities at Okada Manila include The Retreat Spa, a full-service wellness center with luxurious spa services; PLAY, a learning-oriented children's entertainment indoor facility. There is also 8,409 square meters of shopping area allocated within the casino resort.
A large central fountain known as "The Fountain" is the centerpiece of the casino-resort complex, which covers 37,464 square meters and cost $30 million. The fountain is known as the largest colorful dancing fountain in the world.
The $30 million fountain was designed by Los Angeles-based WET. The design is inspired by "Filipino holiday traditions" and sampaguita (Jasminum sambac). The dancing fountain has 739 water nozzles, including WET's proprietary underwater robot, 2611 colorful LED lights and 23 speakers.
The Okada Fountain in Manila is the largest dancing fountain in the Philippines. At 37,464 square meters, the Okada Manila Fountain is slightly smaller than the Dubai Fountain at Lake Burj Khalifa in the United Arab Emirates.
The garden is a lush open space overlooking Manila Bay. It occupies over 30,000 square meters of manicured parkland with 5 reflecting pools covering over 3,000 square meters. The garden is a relaxation area for guests and a venue for celebrations and special events.
Cove Manila is an indoor beach club by day and a nightclub by night.
Cove Manila opened to the public on December 15, 2017, with DJ Steve Aoki hosting the event. The venue hosted an event prior to its opening, the Miss Universe 2016 after-party in January 2017. Miss Earth 2019 will be held on 26 October 2019 and Miss Earth 2022 will be held on 29 November 2022.
